Vaiva Tylienė – bra fitting specialist at the Silueta store

I am a medical doctor, a certified bra fitting specialist, and the founder, owner and manager of the Silueta store.

Professional background

From 1982 to 1988 I studied medicine at Vilnius University and then completed my internship. For about ten years I worked as a general physician in a hospital.

That medical background still helps me today – understanding anatomy, how the body changes and where discomfort can come from, and talking with clients about the body and how they feel in plain, practical terms.

In 1999 I moved into finance. For five years I was Director of Commerce at SEB VB Life Insurance, and for another eight years Head of Sales and Business Development at SEB Asset Management.

Between 2000 and 2002 I completed a master’s degree in international business at the International Business School at Vilnius University, and from 2004 to 2006 executive studies at BMI Executive Institute. Later I served two terms, almost nine years, as President of the BMI Alumni Association.

Medicine, management and business now come together in my everyday work with Silueta clients.

Bra and compression hosiery fitting

I have been fitting bras professionally for more than ten years. I completed the FabFit Academy Certification Program and hold a bra fitting specialist certificate.

During a consultation I look at far more than the size. Breast shape, body proportions, posture, sensitivity of the skin and how a woman feels when she moves all matter. A well-fitted bra should not only look good – it has to be comfortable every day.

As a doctor I also understand how compression hosiery works and what it is used for. I can help you choose the right size, model and compression purpose, and explain how to put the stockings on and wear them correctly. This matters, because a compression product in the wrong size, or used incorrectly, may simply not do its job.

Silueta – since 2009

I have been running my own business since 2009, and since 2011 I have managed UAB Tylaris, the company behind the Silueta brand.

We started with Italian SOLIDEA compression hosiery. Over time Silueta became a specialised store for lingerie, swimwear, shapewear and compression products.

Our work rests on professional consultation, a wide range of sizes and the chance to compare how different manufacturers build their garments. Knowing your size is not enough: products from different brands can fit very differently.
