WACOAL is a Japanese lingerie brand founded in Kyoto in 1946 and today known around the world. One of the brand’s defining features is its strong focus on the female body, bra construction, fit and wearing comfort.

In 1964, WACOAL established its Human Science Research Center, where the company has spent decades studying women’s body shapes, how they change and move, and how different garment constructions interact with the body. The knowledge gained from this research is used in the development of bras and lingerie.

WACOAL designers combine body measurement data with repeated fittings and careful construction adjustments. As a result, the strength of the brand lies not only in refined aesthetics, but also in thoughtfully engineered fit, support and comfort.
