EMERALD RIVERS "Close Apart" is a limited-edition silk scarf whose design was first painted on canvas by Lithuanian artist Inga Stacinskė. Only the finished painting was digitised and transferred onto fabric, so the print preserves the layered colours, brushstroke character and mood of the original artwork. This version is dominated by deep navy blue and pink shades.

Two butterflies move among hanging wisteria. Deep Prussian blue brings out the petals and creates a mood of evening, distance and closeness. The name of the scarf holds a paradox – you can be apart and still remain close. This is one of the most emotional motifs in the collection.

The butterflies are not in one place, yet their movement is directed towards each other. Space, wisteria branches and a deep blue sky remain between them, but the connection in the painting is never broken. This story can speak of people separated by distance, time or circumstances.

The message: closeness is not measured only by how physically close we are.

The 14 momme silk twill is soft, dense enough and drapes beautifully. The natural sheen of silk brings out the rich colours of the painting and lets them shift as the scarf moves and the light changes.

The generous 100 × 100 cm format allows the scarf to be tied in many ways: around the neck, draped loosely over the shoulders, worn under a coat or blazer, tied over the head or used as an expressive accent for the whole look.

• Hand wash gently in cool or lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent. Do not rub, wring or twist.
• Remove excess water by carefully rolling the scarf in a clean towel. Dry flat in the shade, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• While still slightly damp, iron lightly on the reverse side at a low temperature. Do not iron the hand-rolled edges.
