EMERALD RIVERS (Belgium)

EMERALD RIVERS is a scarf brand created by Lithuanian artist Inga Stacinskė, transforming original paintings into wearable art.

Every EMERALD RIVERS design begins as an original painting created on canvas especially for a scarf. Only once the painting is complete is it digitised and transferred onto silk or wool. This allows the scarves to preserve the layered colours, painterly character and atmosphere of the original artwork.

Inga Stacinskė’s work brings together nature, flowers, birds, wild animals and small emotional stories. Her paintings have been presented at exhibitions and art fairs in Belgium, France and Denmark. Looking for a way to bring art beyond gallery and home walls and into everyday life, Inga chose the scarf – an accessory that makes it possible not only to see art, but to wear it.

The larger EMERALD RIVERS scarves are made from 100% silk or soft Turkmen wool, while the smaller scarves are made from 100% silk. The silk designs use 14 momme silk twill, selected for its softness, beautiful drape and ability to reproduce rich colours. The edges of every scarf are hand-rolled.

On silk, the colours appear especially vivid and deep, while the natural sheen of the fabric changes with movement and light. On wool, the same artwork takes on a softer, slightly smoky character.
